Here is just under 12 minutes of Rep. Melanie Stansbury from New Mexico speaking in opposition to HR8446. Please take the time and watch.

This bill, with its seemingly harmless title of “Critical Mineral Consistency Act of 2024,” is being sold as a law that will secure the domestic supply chain of critical minerals. In reality it will do the opposite.

Question. If the purpose of HR8446 was to secure our critical mineral supply chain, why did the Senate Rules Committee vote down an amendment to the bill that would restrict foreign adversaries from benefiting from this law?

Submitted by Rep Leger Fernandez of New Mexico, and attached below, the amendment failed 2-7.

It’s the lobbyists’ world. We’re just living in it.

The billed passed the House and is now in the Senate. Please contact your Senators and tell them to vote NO on HR8446.
