In June of 2023, a BLM geologist expressed some concerns about Faraday drilling underneath BLM land from their drill pads on private land.
From Faraday’s own drill data, every drill hole has an inclination of 45 degrees or greater (technically less, being it is a negative number) as seen below.
As we have pointed out in this previous post, with their drill rigs being in close proximity to BLM boundaries, it is possible/probable they are drilling under federal land. We found no other email within the FOIA release stating if it was allowed or legal. With Faraday’s own data of location, azimuth, inclination and drill depth, we can and will calculate the distance that the drill rig could have reached into BLM boundaries.
Does anyone know if this under-drilling of BLM land is allowed/legal?
